In the Band presents: Summer Blast Off Concert

On Saturday, June 11, 2016, we hosted our first annual Sound Art Summer Blast Off Concert featuring all of the groups from our programming this school year at The Hi Hat in Highland Park.

With performances by:
The Ear Breakers from Proyesto Pastoral
Unlimited from Vista Middle Academy
Picasso and the Treble Trojans from St. Bernard Middle School
Awoke from View Park High School!

We had an amazing time enjoying the music our students have worked so hard on to perform for the audience. Keep updated for the next Summer Blast Off Concert!

View Park Band "Awoke" Records Original Songs with Henhouse Studios

In the Band’s View Park HS band "Awoke" went into Henhouse Studios in Venice, CA this week to record 3 original songs that the band wrote over the course of the school year.
Along with their instructors Lincoln Mendell, Rachel Fannan, and Sam Correa, the band was able to experience a day in the studio with hands-on experiences in tracking, mixing, overdubs and other studio activities. Special thanks to Harlan Steinberger for engineering and hosting.

Phish and WaterWheel Donate Proceeds From Their July 25th Show to Sound Art!

The WaterWheel Foundation was created by Phish in 1997 to oversee the band’s various charitable activities. The foundation chooses non-profits from a large sphere of needs including social services, primarily those benefitting women and children; environmental, with a focus on clean water and land conservation with public access; as well as food banks, urban gardening and the like. Thanks to the generosity of the fans, since its creation WaterWheel’s Touring Division has donated over $1,000,000 to more than 425 groups.

Big thanks to Phish and the WaterWheel Foundation for donating a portion of the proceeds from their July 25th show at The Forum to In the Band!
